Day 1 - Arrive Dublin Airport A.M.

Molly Malone

You will be greeted by your personal private driver for the next 12 days, and transferred into Dublin City. Breakfast will be arranged for you at your hotel. After breakfast we start our day with a visit to the Book of Kells at Trinity College, then driving South coastal visiting James Joyce Tower and museum where Joyce wrote the setting for Ulysses, and the famous 40 foot where swimmers enjoy a swim 365 days a year (are you brave enough to bring swimwear and a towel).

Lough Dan

We continue through the village of Dalkey famous for the elite and onwards over the Wicklow mountains to Glendalough the valley of the 2 lakes. Here we view the excellent audio visual and exhibition before a stroll along the lake to the 6th.c round tower founded by St. Kevin. Our journey continues back through the highest village in Ireland returning to Dublin City.

Day 2.

Newgrange

We travel North of Dublin into the Boyne Valley to Newgrange to view the Neolithic passages that pre-date the Pyramids of Egypt. Our journey continues to Monasterboice to view some of the tallest High Crosses in Ireland. After lunch we continue to Malahide Castle close to Malahide Village and continue coastal to the fishing village of Howth. Lambay Island just off Howth Harbour is where the Vikings first invaded Ireland in AD 759.

We then drive to the summit of Howth with sweeping views into the Irish Sea and take the coast road back to your hotel passing Clontarf where Brian Boru, the last High King of Ireland, died in the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

Day 3.

Kilkenny Castle

We depart Dublin and take the drive to the Medieval City of Kilkenny. A guided tour in Kilkenny Castle before browsing with the locals around the City.

Waterford Crystal

After lunch in Kilkenny we travel to Waterford Crystal and take the famous factory floor tour and watch the master craftsmen at work, before we continue to your hotel.

Day 4.

Old Midleton Distillery

Our adventure continues driving South to Cork. Our first stop is Midleton Distillery home of Irish Whiskey and sample some of the finest Irish Whiskeys. We continue to Cobh Queenstown Heritage Centre, a heritage centre that has a story to be told. Here is where 2.5 million adults and children emigrated on Coffin Ships, Steamers, and Great Ocean Liners, and where the Titanic last docked before it's ill fated journey.

Blarney Castle

After light lunch we continue to the 15th.c Blarney Castle, where you have the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone, when kissed is said to endow the speaker with extraordinary powers of eloquence what we call in Ireland (the gift of the gab) the stone was once kissed by Winston Churchill in 1912. Refreshments are the order of the day before you grace yourself in Blarney Woollen Mills a shop of wonderful and exciting Irish fair.

Day 5

St. Finbar's Island Church

We leave Cork and travel through the Sheehy Mountains stopping at St. Finbar's Island Church and the Award winning most photographed restroom in Ireland. Onwards we continue through Irish speaking country villages to Glengarriff and take a short hop ferry to the Italian Gardens on Garnish Island.

Healy's Pass

After lunch we browse the village of Glengarriff and continue over Healy's Pass into Kenmare.

Day 6.

The Ring of Kerry

Today the famous Ring of Kerry- rugged mountains, still lakes,Atlantic Ocean, Charlie Chaplin, breathtaking scenery, 100 miles of pure heaven and stories to be told (keep your eyes open for the Leprechauns).

Lakes of Killarney

We stop at the Bog Village to see the history of turf from the bog and have their famous Irish Coffee, the rest I can't describe you will have to see it for yourself.

Day 7.

Slea Head Drive

We depart Kenmare and drive to Dingle, first a photo opportunity overlooking the lakes of Killarney. Before arriving in Dingle we pass Inch beach where you can take in the fresh Atlantic sea air with a stroll along the beach. We continue passing the patchwork quilt hedgerow fields into Dingle.

Gallarus Oratory

We then drive the Slea Head Loop to see 2000 year old Bee Hive Huts, a visit to the Blasket Centre and audio visual on the Blasket Islands and the 8th.c Gallarus Oratory returning to Dingle for traditional fish & chips made from real potatoes and fresh cod from the trawlers in Dingle. We travel over the Conor Pass descending into Tralee and continue to the village of Adare.

Day 8.

The Cliffs of Moher

We walk the village of Adare before we cross the River Shannon in Limerick and continue to the Cliffs of Moher rising 700 feet above sea level. We stop in a traditional Irish pub for lunch (great Irish stew) and continue our scenic drive through the Burren 100 sq. miles of Limestone with the Atlantic to your left.

Onwards we drive to the City of the Tribesmen Galway.

Day 9

The Quiet Man Bridge

Onwards our day starts with a visit to Connemara Marble where Ambrose will invite you into the workshop and show the marble in a solid state and explain its origin. We continue West stopping at the Quiet Man Bridge made famous in the film 'The Quiet Man' with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Into Clifden we travel passing the 12 Bens mountains and a private visit to a traditional Irish sheep farm (hidden gem). We continue onto the Sky Road Drive with sweeping views down into the Atlantic Ocean.

Kylemore Abbey

We stop for lunch in Letterfrack and visit Kylemore Abbey 1864, which is spectacularly sited above Lake Pollacappul. We continue our adventure passing the turf stacks in the bog back to Galway.

Day 10.

Clonmacnoise

Time to browse with the locals in Galway City before we depart for Clonmacnoice an ancient monastic site dating back to the 6th.c, founded by St. Ciaran the son of an Ulsterman. Here is where we view the audio visual on Clonmacnoice and see the ancient High Crosses and round tower. Lunch is served in the quaint cafe at Clonmacnoice before we descend to Birr Castle the Historic Science Centre and Gardens. Here we see one of the worlds largest telescopes, constructed in the 1840's, this was the largest telescope for over 70 years. We drive through the small village of Kinnitty to your hotel.

As a different option we can drive direct to Kinnitty where clay pigeon shooting, horse riding or falconry can be arranged (by prior arrangement only at time of booking tour).

Day 11.

Kilmainham Gaol

Our destination today is back to Dublin's fair City where the girls are so pretty, over the Slieve Bloom mountains before we travel to Dublin. On arrival in Dublin we visit St. Patrick's Cathedral and Kilmainham Jail where Irish Freedom fighters were executed in the 1916 Rising.

We continue to your hotel for your last evening on your Ireland Tour.

Day 12

Alas your driver will transfer you from your hotel to Dublin Airport with fond memories of the Emerald Isle and your new friend your driver, we say slan abhaile (safe home).
